As a general policy, we are often skeptical about having seemingly 
unrelated items on the GUI affect one another in potentially unexpected 
ways.  You ask that what now requires two simple mouse actions (or one 
mouse action followed by hitting "F4" on the keyboard) might be reduced 
to the first action alone.  Doesn't sound like a big step forward, to 
me.  Moreover, there are many circumstances -- perhaps especially on VHF 
bands -- where one does not not wish to clear DxCall and DxGrid after a 
band change, and does not plan to call CQ right away.


One of the reasons the WSJT project has has an open source policy for 
most of its 22-year history is to that users with programming skills can 
modify it as they choose.  Of course, you are welcome to do so within 
the normal GPLv3 licensing rules.
