Re: [wsjt-devel] Q65 T/R Cycle Submode Tracking

2023-02-06 Thread Dwayne Sinclair via wsjt-devel
Sure - It was specific to 23CM which is where I am currently “hanging out” at
and I admit 23CM is new for me, but the Submode to T/R tracking I specified
below seems to be standard for 23CM and corresponding to the follow link:

Hi Dwayne

Could you please provide some references to these websites and technical
discussions.

There is no general linkage of period length to tone spacing, since a
number of factors are in play. Have you read the Q65 Quick Start Guide?

Would it be possible to add a switch to setting to track submode to T/R cycle

Yes, it would be possible, but it would not be desirable.

As a general matter we shy away from having user-interface controls
affect the status of other user-controllable options, where this might
lead to unexpected behavior.

Even more important: If you're working 6m EME, you might think that the
optimal Q65-60x sunmode is Q65-60A. But 2m EME is done with Q65-60B,
1296 MHz EME with Q65-60C, and 10 GHz EME with Q65-60D. There are good
reasons for all these choices, and many others -- and that's why so many
submodes are offered.
