Re: [wsjt-devel] ALL.TXT does not show VHF band changes

+1 for me, been lucky enough to QRV in HF bands only.
The kind of analysis I am preparing though would be highly usable in all bands.

[wsjt-devel] ALL.TXT date line

2018-07-08 Thread Dennis Drakopoulos via wsjt-devel

Colleagues, gud morning fm Athens!Third time within a week of running into this
issue.
My setup consists of WSJT-X release 1.9.1 and W10 Home release 1803. Both are
QRV 24x7 for abt a year now.Issue faced is that (third time now) WSJT-X did not
print out to ALL.TXT the line of changing date, thus I can not differentiate
spots in my further analysis operations. Spots do continue to get stored in
ALL.TXT with newer time stamps. So far next date line gets printed.
I am available fer further debugging.

Re: [wsjt-devel] PSK Reporter ANTENNA

2018-01-25 Thread Dennis Drakopoulos via wsjt-devel

TKS everyone!Apologies but missed this in new WSJT-X suite. Yeap it is there
available and I have just provisioned it.
Rationale behind is for a ham using PSK REPORTER spots to be able to assess
their reception by different spotters. When I discussed abt it with Philip,
owner of PSK REPORTER, he did mention that if that field was not provided, it
would be filled with data from other spots. That is what happened to me. So I
ended up reporting that I have a Dipole at 20meters height on 3.5MHz when I
merely use a simple PA0RDT mini whip ant!

[wsjt-devel] PSK Reporter ANTENNA

2018-01-25 Thread Dennis Drakopoulos via wsjt-devel

Hello from Athens!I believe it would be beneficial for all if WSJT software
development team could add as a feature, to allow the user to provision antenna
information field on the spots being uploaded to PSK REPORTER project.

Re: [wsjt-devel] Logging of PSK REPORTER spots

2017-12-28 Thread Dennis Drakopoulos via wsjt-devel

Michael es Brian, thank you very much for the support!
Well, my programming skills & competencies are kind of rusty. So I'll have to
put extra effort to write a program. Of course I can easily augment or modify a
ready made one. Besides, I always believed that we shouldn't reinvent the wheel
every time a few simple requirements are needed. For my analysis case, looking
to have a visual representation (chart) of only CQ and DE FT8 spot counts on an
hourly step per day (24h). Single band, easily feasible. Then I would like to
have the same kind of data mining but for non European spots. This way I can be
informed of when is the busiest time to QRV, as well as when is the best DXing
time. All these for a time frame - depth of a month.Input data should provide
appropriate fields so the program or tool used for analysis can accomplish
operations such as date filtering. If dataset is not structured properly, then
no further actions would be possible.I have been evaluating good old - yet
powerful enough nowdays, Microsoft Excel, with quite interesting results.
Considered it a good tool candidate because of its capabilities in chart
making. Now I am thinking to use Regular Expressions in order to filter and
drop European spots. That is based on their prefix, (CTY country files as
reference).Michael, let me find the time to assess your work and get back to
all via this thread. I believe you started building something good. Not sure on
DE filtering and scaling - substantial files used as input.

Re: [wsjt-devel] Logging of PSK REPORTER spots

2017-12-25 Thread Dennis Drakopoulos via wsjt-devel

Thank you dear Michael for coming back!
Not suitable for me. First each line does not contain the date of decoded
message, as well as the dial frequency. Secondly, data duplication. Only want
CQ messages originating from a callsign and DE ones.

How about making the software component responsible for PSK REPORTER spots
uploading able to log those spots as well?
Actually, what is uploaded to PSK REPORTER? CQ, DE or which messages?

[wsjt-devel] Logging of PSK REPORTER spots

2017-12-25 Thread Dennis Drakopoulos via wsjt-devel

Good afternoon to all!Is it possible to add as a feature the capability to log
to a local text file all spots sent to PSK REPORTER?Rationale behind if to
utilize them in offline analysis.
If hot, perhaps you can suggest of another workaround to have these spots?
Merry Xmas es HNY 2018!
