The problem is probably related to Linux mint, because i have now tried it on a pure ubuntu distro. The thing that i observed there is that the TX audio (my radio has a monitor function) sounded garbled or "bubbly" in the first 5 seconds of tx. [wsjt-devel] WSJT-X version 1.60 devel by K1JT and Yeasu FT-991 TX audio problems.
Hi, i have a problem. It seems that the WSJT-X program does not put out any audio, so i do not get any TX power. I have tried to resolve this with help of the Yeasu FT-991 users group on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/yaesuft991/ The software is set to use: Input: alsa_input.usb-Burr-Brown_from_TI-USB_Audio_Codec-00-codec.analog.stereo (mono) Output:Input: alsa_output.usb-Burr-Brown_from_TI-USB_Audio_Codec-00-codec.analog.stereo (mono) Rig: Yeasu FT-991 Poll interval: 1 s PPT method: CAT serial port: /dev/ttyUSB0 Baud rate: 38400 Data bits: 8 stopbits: 2 Handshake: None The settings in the radio are: Menu : setting 108: rear 110: RTS 111:USB These settings are also mentioned in the user manual. Still, i cant get any TX power response. The radio is connected to the computer with a USB cable, and PPT and dial frequency control + RX works. the package i am using is from : deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ki7mt/wsjtx-next/ubuntu trusty main Information on my computer: uname -a Linux Haaken-Cooler-Master 3.16.0-38-generic #52~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri May 8 09:43:57 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux hwinfo: haaken-cooler-master description: Desktop Computer product: System Product Name (SKU) vendor: System manufacturer version: System Version serial: System Serial Number width: 64 bits capabilities: smbios-2.7 dmi-2.7 vsyscall32 configuration: boot=normal chassis=desktop family=To be filled by O.E.M. sku=SKU uuid=40235D67-DAD7-DD11-9B0F-74D02B25F01A *-core description: Motherboard product: SABERTOOTH Z77 vendor: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. physical id: 0 version: Rev 1.xx serial: 130208369800300 slot: To be filled by O.E.M. *-firmware description: BIOS vendor: American Megatrends Inc. physical id: 0 version: 1805 date: 12/19/2012 size: 64KiB capacity: 8128KiB capabilities: pci upgrade shadowing cdboot bootselect socketedrom edd int13floppy1200 int13floppy720 int13floppy2880 int5printscreen int9keyboard int14serial int17printer acpi usb biosbootspecification uefi *-cpu description: CPU product: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz vendor: Intel Corp. physical id: 4 bus info: cpu@0 version: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz serial: To Be Filled By O.E.M. slot: LGA1155 size: 2536MHz capacity: 3800MHz width: 64 bits clock: 100MHz capabilities: x86-64 fpu fpu_exception wp vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe syscall nx rdtscp constant_tsc arch_perfmon pebs bts rep_good nopl xtopology nonstop_tsc aperfmperf eagerfpu pni pclmulqdq dtes64 monitor ds_cpl vmx est tm2 ssse3 cx16 xtpr pdcm pcid sse4_1 sse4_2 popcnt tsc_deadline_timer aes xsave avx f16c rdrand lahf_lm ida arat epb xsaveopt pln pts dtherm tpr_shadow vnmi flexpriority ept vpid fsgsbase smep erms cpufreq configuration: cores=4 enabledcores=1 *-cache:0 description: L1 cache physical id: 5 slot: L1-Cache size: 256KiB capacity: 256KiB capabilities: internal write-back unified *-cache:1 description: L2 cache physical id: 6 slot: L2-Cache size: 1MiB capacity: 1MiB capabilities: internal varies unified *-cache:2 DISABLED description: L3 cache physical id: 7 slot: L3-Cache size: 6MiB capacity: 6MiB capabilities: internal unified *-memory:0 UNCLAIMED physical id: 1 *-bank UNCLAIMED description: DIMM DDR3 Synchronous 1333 MHz (0,8 ns) product: CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 vendor: AMI physical id: 0 serial: slot: ChannelA-DIMM0 size: 4GiB width: 64 bits clock: 1333MHz (0.8ns) *-memory:1 description: System Memory physical id: 5b slot: System board or motherboard *-bank:0 description: DIMM DDR3 Synchronous 1333 MHz (0,8 ns) product: CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 vendor: AMI physical id: 0 serial: slot: ChannelA-DIMM1 size: 4GiB width: 64 bits clock: 1333MHz (0.8ns) *-bank:1 description: DIMM [empty] product: [Empty] vendor: [Empty] physical id: 1 serial: [Empty] slot: ChannelB-DIMM0 *-bank:2 description: DIMM [empty] product: [Empty] vendor: [Empty] physical id: 2

Be aware, the default install --prefix is /usr/local. If a different install location is desired, the user should add --prefix= as desired. More than likely, the PObjext error was result of having python-numpy (python-2.7.x version) installed and not specifying the which F2PY to use at configure time. I removed my Linux Mint 17.1 install, but If need be I can simply add it to a partition do some testing. I do know, WSJT, WSPR and WSJT-X all worked properly Linux Mint 17.1 the last time I tested it, which was a couple months back. 73's Greg, KI7MT On 08/29/2015 05:35 AM, Bill Somerville wrote: On 29/08/2015 12:19, Richard Bown wrote: Edit the Makefile change the python and f2py lines to this:- # WSJT specific Fortran flags FFLAGS += -O2 -fbounds-check -fno-second-underscore -Wall -Wno-conversion -Wno-character-truncation CFLAGS += -I. -DBIGSYM -DHAVE_STRUCT_TIMESPEC -fPIC PYTHON ?= /usr/bin/python3 F2PY?= /usr/bin/f2py3.4 run make There should be no need to change the Makefile directly. Re: [wsjt-devel] Problems with wsjt.py compiled on Linux mint
portaudio is a solution. I am tired of hassling with this problem, and i am simply giving it up until the bugs in ALSA or WSJT are solved by the developers. [wsjt-devel] Problems with wsjt.py compiled on Linux mint
Hello, there seems to be some faults with the wsjt.py file. Fault 1: running ./wsjt resluts in the following error message: Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/bin/wsjt.py, line 5, in module from tkinter import * ImportError: No module named tkinter I fixed this with replacing all the tkinter instances with: Tkinter. Fault number 2: Trying to run it now results in: ./wsjt Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/bin/wsjt.py, line 6, in module from Tkinter.filedialog import * ImportError: No module named filedialog The wsjt.py file reads: #!/usr/bin/env python #- WSJT # $Date: 2015-08-05 22:04:20 +0200 (on., 05 aug. 2015) $ $Revision: 5755 $ # from Tkinter import * from Tkinter.filedialog import * import Pmw import Tkinter.messagebox from WsjtMod import g import os,time from WsjtMod import Audio from math import log10 import numpy.core.multiarray # Tell cxfreeze we need the numpy stuff from PIL import Image from PIL import ImageTk from WsjtMod.palettes import colormapblue, colormapgray0, colormapHot, \ colormapAFMHot, colormapgray1, colormapLinrad, Colormap2Palette from types import * import array import _thread import webbrowser How do i fix this ? [wsjt-devel] Rigblaster compability issue with wsjt (alsa-driver/libjack)
Hello, is anyone aware of the Rigblaster compability issue with wsjt ? It does not like the alsa driver,it cannot get the proper sample rate. More info is in the link: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wsjt/+bug/1488906 The problem is, according to the folks at the #linuxmint-chat ,- Linux mint and jack audio server does not play along nice, and wsjt needs libjack-jackd2-0. Fldigi uses portaudio, and works fine with that. The newest wsjt-x also works, the older version 1.1 also had problems relating to the sample rate. --- Håken Hveem LA1RMA -- ___ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
