[wsjt-devel] Fixed use two JT65B problem.
Hello Mike, Uwe and the wsjtx development team. I thank you for the supporting me. I was very sorry for asking such a strange question that had trouble JT65B of WSJT-X. I find the cause of in trouble of use two JT65B. In my case, the cause of my trouble was the USB3 port on my PC. I reported you about my situation and after that I will need using two JT65B on the EME then I installed two WSJT9 for two JT65B. And then my strange PC told me when I started the second WSJT9 that the PC said "Not Enough USB Controller Resources error message" You know that the cause of this error of the USB3. In my case, I do not need to use the USB3 port for my PC so I attached two USB sound cards on the USB2 port of my PC. But my PC was strange PC, I think probably they were recognized by the USB3 port with my PC. Therefore in my PC, I think the two USB sound cards were strange motion with use two JT65B. But I think my PC did not tell me that error when used two JT65B of WSJT-X. After that in my case, I changed the BIOS setting on my strange PC to not use USB3. Any way I am able to use two JT65B of WSJT-X to working well on my PC. And I am installing the JTDX APP but I have no problem until now. I thank you and your team so much again. Mike W9MDB and wsjtx development team. Thank you for your question. Yes, the Behringer UMC202HD sound card is working well. I tested the Asus U7 and the UMC202HD with two JT65B of WSJT-X on my PC. You are able to see in the attached picture of the Device manager of my PC. But I use input port only, for use H-pol input port of JT65B. Hi Mike and the wsjt development team. Thank you for the suggestion about my system. I tested the USB sound cards of JT65 with not used the linear amp today. So probably TX output was 25W. I install an isolation unit and a Ferrite Core Clamp between the PC and the 4P HUB that connects the ASUS U7 and Sound Blaster HD right now. But Okay, I have a Ferrite Core Clamp ZCAT3035 and I can try installing it with H-pol audio line between the IC-746pro and The Sound Blaster. And I have ASUS U5 but I think that IF U5 and U7 were on the same PC then could not be shared due to conflicting USB ports. But I also have a UMC202HD sound card. If U5 doesn't work due to conflicting USB ports, I'll try testing UMC202HD. Sorry I will tell you about test result tomorrow. So two suggestions. #1 Put a choke on the audio lines for all your sound lines into the Sound Blaster. Possible RFI into the computer might be locking up the card. #2 Replace the Sound Blaster with another ASUS. I assume the driver for the Sound Blaster is really old. Hi wsjtx development team. Thank you for supporting me. I am still testing in trouble of run two JT65B with my PC right now. I clean installed on my PC from Windows DVD this morning. Then I got windows update on my PC. Then I made mistake that I installed driver to two USB sound cards before test. So my PC has two USB sound cards, for H port has Creative Sound Blaster HD and for V port has ASUS Xonar U7. Then so I had happened that the problem occurred soon where the decoding did not ended on my PC. I thought the problem of my PC was with the two USB sound card drivers. Then I clean installed on my PC again. I checked my audio port, already installed audio driver to H port sound card probably by windows update. But I tested JT65B of WSJT-X again. The test results were no problem until I installed the U7 driver. Now currently checking the combination of audio ports on my PC. It will take some time for the results to be communicated. By the way, Uwe I have a question. JT65 does not decode in the TXing period. But JT65 is decoding every time even when there is no signal. However, Q65 and FT8 do not decode when there is no signal. For example, is it possible for JT65 to not perform decoding processing when there is no signal, similar to Q65 and FT8? That seems to solve my in trouble. I may tell you my test result tomorrow. Hi Patrik Thank you for the advice about my in trouble of you run two JT65B. I think I will uninstall JTDX and Q65 and FT8 of WSJT-X. So I think it's easy. So I just have one WSJT-X program and one JTDX program under C drive. And delete all of JTDX and WSJT folders under AppData Local. But I will back up all of the AppData Local folder in advance. Then I run two icons of two JT65B then the icon make two JT65B folder under AppData Local. Then I copy two JT65B folder from the backup to under AppData Local. And then I check run two JT65B test again. If it's Okay then I think I will try to testing install JTDX because I think the rig control or the audio control are not share with WSJT-X. I sent two emails about my situation.
Probably my settings is different from other stations.
I ask you the following question.
I have 6 icons and I have 6 folders under AppData Local of two JT65B for H and
V-pol, Q65A for H and V-pol and FT8 for H and V-pol of WSJT-X.
And I have 2 icons and I have 2 folders under AppData Local of two FT8 for H
and V-pol of JTDX.
So I have their 8 folders under AppData Local, are those folders causing
trouble?
And I use the output all of the audio port are the same port as H and V-pol for
each WSJT and JTDX.
This is because I just use one side of TX which both IC-746pro.
Of course, I use it the same as WSJT-X and JTDX.
Is it okay to use the output audio port of the only one port to all of the
instances as share on one PC?

I would really like to help you, but the error simply does not occur on my PC.
I have run numerous tests with two instances this morning. Both with WSJT-X
v2.6.1 and v2.7.0-rc3 and with wsjt-x_improved v2.7.1-devel. I tested various
settings (EME delay on/off, with FT-991 CAT control vs without (i.e. CAT =
None), real transmission via antenna vs virtual audio, and so on). Result:
There was not a single case where this error occurred. It always worked
perfectly with JT65B, and with the other modes. The decode button did not get
stuck, and I was also able to decode my own transmissions from the first
instance with the second one without any problems when using my virtual audio
cable. (Due to time constraints, I only tested the latter for my 2.7.1-devel
version).
Very important: The error that the second instance hangs after you have
transmitted with the first one (visible by the fact that the Decode button
remains cyan) always occurs if not both instances were started with the "
--rig-name=InstanceNameXYZ" parameter but only the second one. In this case,
the "zeroth" instance (that without the " --rig-name..." parameter) shoots down
all the others. So please make sure once again that this is not the case.
Perhaps caused by a spelling mistake (" -rig-name..." instead of "
--rig-name..." or something like that).

So I was thinking the same thing as Mike until November last year.
I thought I was able to solve my JT65B problem by replacing it with the current
faster PC.
Then I replaced my older PC to my current PC in November last year.
But unfortunately, my in problem with run two JT65B cannot be resolved at this
time.
I will test the advice you gave me yesterday on my WSJT PC today.
Then I will also email you of the test results.

I am checking under what circumstances multiple JT65B are decoding freeze. I think two JT65B are decoding every periods if both JT65B does not TX. But JT65B of the TXing side does not decode in the TX period. I think the decoding freeze of JT65B at the same periods of not TX side of JT65B when TXing of JT65B finished of TXing period. And the decoding freeze may occur immediately at the earliest, or until about 10 TXing at the latest. Please contact me if you need additional confirmation. Hi Mike Thank you for supporting me. You are right, I am using Virusbuster by Trend Micro of the antivirus program for on my PC. On this PC does not use anything use other than WSJT. So I will be able to uninstall Virusbuster on my PC. I will uninstall Virusbuster on my PC tomorrow. Then I will try testing of run two JT65B without Virusbuster. I will tell you my test result after testing of run two JT65B. [wsjt-devel] Happened problem with run two JT65B.
I am Taka, JP3EXR and am Japanese 2m EMEer. Mike, W9MDB came to my PC and helped me with remote when happened problem of I run two FT8 of JTDX on this PC. Mike do you remember me? I'm still using my two old transceivers ( IC-746pro, called IC-7400 in Japan ) in EME. For the EME until now, in JT65B case I run two JT65B of WSJT9.7 r3639 on one PC. But Joe, K1JT recommends WSJT-X is working well, so I installed WSJT-X Ver 2.6.1 for two JT65B, two Q65A and two FT8 on one PC. I made each program with the rig-name of the desktop Icon. So I was still having two Q65A and two FT8 of WSJT-X. Then I tried to run two JT65B of WSJT-X on one PC but it's having trouble now. I don't think this kind of problem will occur if you use it normally as run just one JT65B of WSJT-X on one PC. In my case, on the receiving, I am using two IC-746pro transceivers to receive each EME signals on H and V-pol to two input each audio ports on one PC. On the transmitting, I am using the same output audio port for two JT65B of WSJT-X for the transmitting and I am transmitting with just V-pol side of IC-746pro. Therefore, I run two JT65B of WSJT-X on one PC. My trouble is that when one side JT65B repeats transmitting and receiving, the another not transmitting side JT65B remains in the decoding state. This trouble occurs in the period of 50 seconds to 60 seconds after JT65B on the transmitting side finishes transmitting and started receiving. Of course, JT65B on the decoded state side will no longer after be able to decode. It was recovered by restarting when JT65B on the side where the failure occurred. Of course even H-pol side transceiver is transmitting the same time with the PTT port of the RIG when I am transmitting. So the H-pol side PC does not received from the input audio signal with the receive side transceiver when IC-746pro is transmitting. Therefore, I think this trouble is unable to be prevented even if the input is stopped by hardware. Just in case, I tried to make an audio cutoff circuit and tested it. However, the problem could not be avoided with that circuit. By the way, run two Q65 or run two FT8 of the same WSJT-X version does not have the same this problem. Although it is not realistic, I tested it with mixed JT65B and Q65A. It's works fine. So I think this problem probably occurs when two JT65Bs are used at the same time. I posted even after I checked if the cause of the trouble was on the PC. So my PC was Win10 OS and i5 CPU so it was not fast. Then I replaced the CPU to fast i7 CPU of the PC but it OS is Win 10. The CPU usage rate when running two JT65Bs is about 10%. Thank you for reading my not so well English. Best regard.
