From "The JT65 Communications Protocol", QEX June 2005, available also
at http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/JT65.pdf :

"An amateur callsign consists of a one- or two-character prefix, at
least one of which must be a letter, followed by a digit and a suffix of
one to three letters."

TM11FAJ does not conform to this definition of a standard amateur
callsign, as required for structured messages in the various JT protocols.

With care, you and others can send your special callsign as part of a
free-text message. (Maximum length is 13 characters.)

Part of the sensitivity advantages of JT65, JT4, and JT9 derives from
the fact that standard callsigns are compressible as described in the
above reference.

Hello all,
Is there a way to use a special callsign of 7 characters TM11FAJ here? Text 1
the message is truncated (no locator) which is not very serious against by not
sending the rst. example: ZZ0ZZZ TM11FAJ only, no RST is sent.

[wsjt-devel] UDP messagetype4

2016-05-17 Thread f5jmh
Hello,

Version 1.7.0 rev problem on 6476 and 6477:
Data Frame UDP provides extra space on the top of the message:

Decode: -1 0754 -3 0.9 912 # VK2GD CT4RC -18 07:54:00
 ^
Decode: -1 0754 -1 1 1001 # JA8IZP OK1VRV JO60 07:54:00
^

Why this extra space? Are there plans to leave it or will you remove it in
future versions?

This space prevents AlarmeJT to drive properly wsjt-x on the message type 4
(UDP).

Thank you and see you soon

Hi Alain,

that is normal if you have checked the "Enable VHF/UHF/Microwave

Hi Laurie,

it is a defect. Several issues have arisen after adding a second
character to the mode indicator ('#', '@' or '$') to indicate sync flips
when using message averaging on VHF & up. I am working through testing
all the modes and resolving these issues. The offset message text is
collateral damage that will be sorted when I check in my changes. Once
that is done the UDP messages will be exactly as before for HF decodes.

Hi Joe and all,

Using revision 6033 today, I have observed this behavior again. I have

that it disappears later.

Of course, this is not really an important observation.

The message protocol is documented in the following file:

https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/wsjt/HEAD/tree/branches/wsjtx/NetworkMessage.hpp

in the commentary at the top.

There is a reference application shipped with WSJT-X v1.5.0 called
message_aggregator, this GUI application implements the server side of
the protocol (WSJT-X is a client of the protocol). The following sources
implement the client and server side plumbing:

https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/wsjt/HEAD/tree/branches/wsjtx/MessageClient.hpp

https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/wsjt/HEAD/tree/branches/wsjtx/MessageServer.hpp

https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/wsjt/HEAD/tree/branches/wsjtx/MessageClient.cpp

https://sourceforge.net/p/wsjt/wsjt/HEAD/tree/branches/wsjtx/MessageClient.cpp

The are implemented using C++ and the Qt framework. MessageServer may be
re-used by a third party Qt C++ application that wishes to get up and
running quickly, we currently do not publish an executable library
containing this as so far all implementers have been using other
languages and have had to home brew their own protocol handlers. To help
with those using Object Pascal I have made available a very basic
message protocol handling unit which can be found here:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4192709/message_aggregator.zip

it uses the Indy Object Pascal library for basic Internet utilities and
frameworks.
