Re: [wsjt-devel] F Low and High boxes turn red
Thanks for responding Bill. Good to know and probably something to be published in the user guide for sure. 73 Jay KA9CFD From: Bill Somerville Sent: Thursday, October 1, 2020 11:54 To: wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [wsjt-devel] F Low and High boxes turn red On 01/10/2020 12:29, Jay Hainline wrote: Using the Windows 64 bit version of WSJT-X 2.3.0-rc1 When monitoring FST4 mode on 630m, I have F Low at 600 and F High at 1400. Is this expected? 73 Jay KA9CFD Hi Jay, as the T/R period increases with FST4 and FST4W modes the bandwidth narrows. The consequence is that the Rx filters in the decoder are closer together and far more candidate signals per Hertz can be detected. The red background is a reminder that the analysis bandwidth is unnecessarily wide and may lead to increased false decodes, and certainly will increase the CPU resource required to decode. The thresholds vary according to the T/R period selected. 73 Bill G4WJS. ___ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
