While in the freq area - 70 Mhz - it’s set as 70.100 for FT8
However as this is not in the German allocation 99.9% of the FT8 4m activity is
centred around 70.154. Also 70.100 is right on the boundary of the RSGB band
Plan for ‘Personal Beacons’.
I see MSHV (which is popular over here due to the extra modes and is aimed more
at 50Mhz and above) has 4m FT8 preset at 70.154. Googling 70.100 and 70.154 all
the web pages refer to 70.154 as FT8 freq - yes the odd proviso that varying
countries have different allocations so may never have one freq that fits all
on 70.
I would seem (IMHO) to have all the FT8 supported packages to have the same
frequency to save confusion once the Es session starts up.
Yes I know any one can edit the frequency table but half the users don’t seem
to know what the ‘Settings’ option actually does and where it is.
