[wsjt-devel] WW Digi Contest Practices Friday

2019-08-14 Thread Ed Muns
Two one-hour practices again this Friday:

Friday 16 August 19-20 UTC (EU evening)
Friday 16 August) 23-00 UTC (NA evening) [NOTE THIS 2nd SESSION
IS 2 HOURS EARLIER THAN THE ORIGINAL SCHEDULE DUE TO
SARTG RTTY CONTEST STARTING AT 00 UTC.]

Use the recommended frequencies in the WW Digi rules. If you operate in the
daily FT frequency sub-bands be sure to use only the non-contest message
sequence with Grid Square and SNR. ('Special operating activity' is
disabled in WSJT-X.)

As part of your practice, feel free to try different scenarios that may
occur during the contest. For example, try both the WW Digi contest mode
(aka NA VHF Contest mode in WSJT-X's 'Special operating activity' function)
and the standard default message sequence with 'Special operating activity'
disabled. Use different calls you may have access to, e.g, club calls. Try
different configurations of your software, e.g., automatic vs. manual modes.

The WW Digi log processing system is up and running so we'd appreciate you
submitting your practice logs so we can test before the actual contest. The
contest date is currently set for last week's practice and will be reset for
this
week on Friday. The problems encountered last week have been fixed (we
think!).

Re: [wsjt-devel] WW Digi Contest Practices

2019-08-10 Thread Doug Bates
I have tried both copy & paste of my Cabrillo file, and using the browse
button to pull up the N1MM+ Cabrillo log file at
https://ww-digi.com/logcheck/logcheck.php.
Still I get "Errors- 33 found" starts at Line 23 the first QSO, and every
QSO to the end marked " Bad date or outside of contest period. Must be
2019-08-31 or 2019-09-01"
It does not look like it wants to accept the log file for me.

I uploaded the Cabrillo file from N1MM+ log that I used in the practice
test. I guess the website is setup correctly for the real WW Digi contest

If running only with WSJT-X 2.1.0, which options should I choose on the "Special

submitting your practice logs so we can test before the actual contest. All
logs will be cleared out before the start of the contest at 12 UTC on 31

[wsjt-devel] WW Digi Contest Practices

2019-08-02 Thread Ed Muns
Two one-hour practices each week leading up to the contest (8 total practice
sessions):

Fridays (9, 16, 23, 30 August) 19-20 UTC (EU evening)
Saturdays (10, 17, 34, 31 August) 01-02 UTC (NA Friday evening)

These should be plenty of times for people to practice WW Digi within their
personal schedule. It's not ideal for some parts of the world beyond EU and
NA, but scheduling gets complex and confusing otherwise.

All
logs will be cleared out before the start of the contest at 12 UTC on 31
August.
