[wsjt-devel] Not sure if an issue

2024-02-13 Thread David Hilton-Jones via wsjt-devel
Twice now I've had WSJT and QMAP (via SDRconsole) running for several hours
without doing anything, and then when I tried to click on station in Active
Stations window nothing happened. Relaunched all programmes and worked fine.

Seems it didn't like running in idle for a long time.

[wsjt-devel] Misleading QTH info on JTAlert

2024-02-13 Thread Ed Stokes via wsjt-devel
Laurie & Uwe,

As a ham who operates from several locations using the same call sign but
different grid squares (FN33 & DM04), it often happens that other ops will be
misdirected by JTAlert, leading them to believe they have contacted Vermont
(FN33) when they have responded to my call clearly indicating my grid as
(DM04).

As proof to me that they have worked Vermont they will send me a screen shot or
other image showing the JTAlert box misleading them to think so.

Is it possible to correct this?

Many thanks, Ed

2024-02-13 Thread David - K2DBK via wsjt-devel
I've had this issue in the past (not currently happening) and switching
codecs has worked.

Instead of re-starting the application, have you tried just going to the
Audio tab, then de-selecting and then re-selecting the USB CODECS?

I have had the same issue with FT-4/8. I leave my WSJT running and freq
town to 40M over night. At first use in the morning I need to restart WSJT
to be able to transmit.

Re: [wsjt-devel] Not sure if an issue

2024-02-13 Thread Alan McDonald via wsjt-devel
It happens to me frequently. I leave the app running all the time (not using
it but it sits there).

Switching CODECs works all the time but curiously I never have to do this
for MSHV or JTDX. They keep the CODEC.

What happens is the sound comes out of my radio speaker until I switch it
back to USB again.

Re: [wsjt-devel] Not sure if an issue

2024-02-13 Thread Tom Paratore via wsjt-devel
Sounds like a memory leak.

If you can run task manger and monitor the memory tab to see which program
continues to consume memory, it may help to identify the cause.

Not seen this kind behaviour. Have pretty much wsjtx running 24/7 some years
now.
OS Fedora 39 (now)
Just now testing 2.7.1-devel
Older genetation i7 desktop...

Is this happening with WIN?
