[XFree86] ati driver and energy saver
In our testing of our latest release, which uses Xfree86 4.2.1, we have had a number of users report a bug with the ati driver. Apparently, when using the ati 7000 card with the ati driver in full screen open gl mode, the monitor turns off after a few minutes. The problem seems to go away when energy saver settings are disabled in the kde energy saver control panel. Are you aware of this problem? Is it fixed in 4.3.0? Re: [XFree86] i810 driver agpgart error
Unfortunately, I edited i810_memory.c and changed if (xf86AgpGARTSupported() !pI810-directRenderingEnabled pI810-GttBound) { to if (xf86AgpGARTSupported() pI810-GttBound) { and it still produces the same error when I launch a second X server. [XFree86] i810 driver agpgart error
Hello all. I'm implementing a resolution test in our display control panel, which basically starts a second X server on another terminal with the desired resolution. This seems to work with some cards, but on the intel i810, I get the following error: -- (--) I810(0): Linear framebuffer at 0x4400 (--) I810(0): IO registers at addr 0x4020 (WW) xf86AcquireGART: AGPIOC_ACQUIRE failed (Device or resource busy) (EE) GARTInit: AGPIOC_INFO failed (Invalid argument) (EE) I810(0): AGP GART support is not available. [Xpert]backporting intel 845 2d
Hello. First off, I'd like to say thank you to all of the xfree86 developers for your tremendous contribution to making a world of free software a reality. I have backported the 2d driver of the intel 845G driver for our upcoming release of lindowsOS. In our testing, we have come across a bug which was fixed in a later series of patches. The specific bug is that the 845G driver doesn't respect the refresh rates specified in the xf86config file. From looking at the cvs commit list, I see that it was fixed in a later series of patches that include 3d support. I would like to ask if it would be possible to separate the fix for refresh rate handling from the larger 3d patch, as we don't have the time to work on the entire 3d patch (which is really two large patches) and I'm not inclined to add that much possible instability to our upcoming release. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. [Xpert]dri on the intel i810
Hello everyone. If you respond, please cc me as I'm not subscribed. Attach: /root/XFree86.0.log.fail xfree86 log I'm an engineer at Lindows.com and we're trying to ship xfree86 4.2.0 with our next release. In testing, our qa dept discovered that the intel i810 card no longer has dri acceleration since moving from 4.1.0 to 4.2.0. I found that we were not using the updated kernel modules required for dri, so I added those to our kernel. Unfortunately, the i810's are still not accelerated. From looking at /var/log/XFree86.0.log, everything seems to be fine, and it says direct rendering enabled, but glxinfo says direct rendering: no. I'm trying really hard to debug this problem and any suggestions as to what the problem is, or how to debug it, would be greatly appreciated. Attached are the output of glxinfo and xfree8.0.log. thank you, michael -- michael cardenas lead software engineer lindows.com . hyperpoem.net .
