It is likely that it will.
I discovered that I had the problem too, so my incentive to fix it
increased.
If the first two methods of DDC detection fail on normal operation,
X now attempts the method used by "X -configure", which seems to work
on most of the problem systems.

If this breaks your setup, then
Option "NoDDC"
will make the server behave the way it did before.

[XFree86] DDC problem with g550

2003-02-03 Thread Marco Berizzi
Hello everybody.

I have a problem with my Matrox G550 and Nokia 445Xpro monitor. Xfree86
(4.2.1) on Linux (slackware 8.1) and FreeBSD 4.7 doesn't detect monitor
info. Nokia 445xpro is connected to the analog output.

(II) MGA(0): I2C bus "DDC" initialized.
(II) MGA(0): I2C device "DDC:ddc2" registered.
(II) MGA(0): I2C device "DDC:ddc2" removed.
(II) MGA(0): I2C Monitor info: (nil)
(II) MGA(0): end of I2C Monitor info

(--) MGA(0): No DDC signal

(II) MGA(0): DDC Monitor info: (nil)
(II) MGA(0): end of DDC Monitor info

I have searched with google and I have found the following thread
http://www.spinics.net/lists/xf-xpert/msg06036.html
I would like to know if this problem will be solved in 4.3.0 release.
