Does anyone know about plans for a fix to the driver for this card soon for
acceleration/3d?

What is this fifo it's waiting for?

The one it needs to use to write to chip registers.

And if it's timed out, why does it go into an endles loop?

Because it can't continue without it, so it tries over and over.

Is there any way to get this to work accelerated?

Apparently not without changes to the driver.
