Thanks for info :-)

Monitor is never unplugged.

Identifier "** ATI Radeon (generic) [radeon]"
Option "CrtScreen"
Option "CloneDisplay" "0"
Driver "radeon"

Nothing changed.

I will try it when XFree86-4.3.0 source will be available for download (can't
get whole CVS).

There are some known problems with OEM cards (it appears to be your case).
The fixes for these problems haven't been merged into 4.3 release because
there is not enough time. Meanwhile you can try two thing:
1. Make sure your monitor is connected during the boot. Don't plug/unplug
monitor(s) after boot.
2. Use Option CloneDisplay "0"
If you still have the same problem and you know how to deal with source
code, you can try following patch.

This file was autogenerated by configurator. Two devices are OK, because Device
name is given in Screen section.

I am using CRT monitor, plugged to standard VGA port.

How can I fix that in rc2, and why Option "crtscreen" doesn't work?

[XFree86] XFree86-4.3.0rc2 and Radeon VE - sometimes works, sometimes not

2003-02-26 Thread Jacek Popławski
I am testing XFree86-4.3.0rc2 (binary from ftp.xfree86.org) on Linux-2.4.20,
with Radeon VE, ECS K7S5A and Duron-1000.

Problem is: sometimes X starts, sometimes they just show infamous message:

(EE) RADEON(0): No valid mode found for this DFP/LCD

I search on google, and solution was to add:

Option "CrtScreen"

But it didn't help, I got still same message.

Strange thing is - XFree86-4.2.0 _always_ starts well. I have only problem with
4.3.0rc2.

Is it problem with my configuration?

I attached XF86Config and XFree86.0.log.
