[XFree86] Sis300 support in XFree86 version 4.3.0 (fwd)
To Whom Among other cards that XFree86 version 4.3.0 pruports to support (and which are subsequently listed once the version is installed) the SiS300 video chip is mentioned. Tho the installation of this version (on RH7.3) of XFree is not without error on my machine (apparently libglide2x.so is missing --?), tho other new drivers mentioned on the XFree86.org page do show up on the list of drivers, mention of the SiS300 (the card I have uses it...;] ) is missing. Is it *Really* not included (which means I have wasted several days ;P)? Please note: regardless of support, right now I cannot get even Xconfigurator (in setup util) to configure even a generic VGA card with my monitor!!! If I am reading the filename correctly, that file is 26Mb -- but if that is OK to send to you, will do...in the meantime, I put it in ftp.evl.uic.edu/pub/INcoming/mgolter/xfree/ btw, ver 4.3.0 has libglide3.so but not the 2x.so nec to configure the system correctly. I am supposing I can find the libglide2x.so somewhere (note: the previous version of XFree86 -- the one that came with RH7.3, did not include it either it seems (a *whereis* did not yield a result from the saved XFree version directory either). ;P Thanks for your interest, mgolter On Fri, 14 Mar 2003, Cynthia Grossen wrote: Support for the 300 has been included in X since at least 3.3.6. [XFree86] sis300
