Re: [XFree86] Video Card problems
I have a similar problem with my Radeon 2500+ 64Mb card and XWindows configuration on my laptop(You probably mean XWindows conf.problems).Mine works fine until I try XWindows. Not tried release of Debian yet. Am working on the problem. Richard Emne: [XFree86] Video Card problems Dear Colleagues, I am having very much troubles with my Radeon 7500 64 Mb video card, Woody release of Debian does not recognize the screen. I am not able to find a driver or the way to let it work. I report here below all the messages of the XFree log. What I already tried was re-installing all Debian with different installation option. I tried to update the kernel to 2.4.18 but I couldn't. Could you give any help? I am desperately looking for somebody who had the same trouble in the newsgroup and similar, it's hard... it seems that the XFree configuration is only mine and nobody else's. [XFree86] Video Card Problems
I'm running Linux RedHat 9 (Shrike) with kernel2.4.20-30.9.My video card is a Riva TNT with external pass through cable to a Voodoo 2 1000 PCI on a pentium 200MMX. The version of XFree86 I'm running is: 4.3.0In gnome, when I "probe" my graphics card, it detects it to be a generic S3 Trio64 card, and no matter what Iset the graphics card settings tothe check box for 3d acceleration is grey and can not be used. Is there possibly an older version of XFree86 that doesn't have this problem? Or is there some way to remedy it with the current version?- David W B

What problem exactly? Perhaps also you can send your /var/log/XFree86.0.log file to this list so we know exactly what setup you have. Mark. RE: [XFree86] video card problems
Either your card isn't supported OR it isn't being auto-detected. Since I see a note in your log about the card being ISA, I'm leaning towards #2. You may need to try specifying your video card in the config file rather than allowing X to guess. Which Nvidia card are you using? -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, March 21, 2003 3:14 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [XFree86] video card problems ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xfree86
