Yes, this applies only to the ViRGE style chipsets. 4.3.0 ships different drivers for S3 ViRGE and S3 chipsets. There is a s3 driver and an s3virge driver. To add to the confusion, S3 started shipping flavors of the Trio that have extensions like the ViRGE chips, ie, yours which is a Trio64V2/GX. If supported, it would be by the s3 driver. Well, often drivers have a readme or man page. Check your fstab file by typing: cat /etc/fstab I also Looked at it using ee You should see a line in there that looks something like: /dev/fd0/mnt/floppy auto a bunch of other opitions There was no line like the one above. I tryed adding Manualy n that didna work. Is there a way to add it. Also is there a way to reformat a 3.5 with msdos after its been formated with freeBSD. Getting back with version information 4.2.1 version 11 revision 0 release 6600 release date 3 sep 2002 build OS FreeBSD 5.0-RC i386 ELF I was being nice. to send you the log file I need to a) know how to access a 3.5 b) copy the file to it c) get the info back off it onto a win 2000 system. and my disk, I can format but cant use, dont have a heXed clue were to copy to if no disk exist and the disk once formated to use freebsd wont work on a windows 95,98,me.2000, or any other os were I can access the Internet. which is why I asked for any help at all. I really didna mean to sound disrespectful really. I believed that was implyed I ran setup. I installed from cd. I installed XFree86 I Ran configure from stand/sysinstall I tryed text version I tryed gui version I tryed a million other things.
