Unfortunately, in my case xrandr does not refresh its state. I left my laptop
connected for more than a minute, but it was still reporting "home settings",
not the ones, it really should see at work. I had to un-dock it and re-dock it
while it was on, then xrandr started reporting proper outputs and modes.

So I need a way to generate undock/dock event by software.

For fonts you can override the xft.dpi or fonconfig setting, some DE's provide
a GUI for that. The cursor will likely just load a theme with increased size.
Again, the DE will likely allow you to configure that, you basically alter
~/.icons/default/index.theme to include the desired one.

Hi there,
Recently I happened to boot my laptop with kali live iso,and I
found there is something I cant understand about resolution & dpi stuffs.

Check this image below:
http://www.hacksign.cn/.png
This screenshot is taken on same laptop with same resolution but
with different dpi.

And both Linux distrobition use Xorg to manage UI stuffs.
On kali linux (black cursor with 96x96 dpi),fonts and mouse cursor
is bigger than a high dpi setting environment(white cursor with 120x120
dpi).

Both cursor is 48x48 px.
So anybody tell me how can I configure my Xorg in order to get
effect of kali linux (2560x1440 with 96x97 dpi, but cursor & fonts are
bigger)?

The kernel is supposed to send a hotplug notification on resume that
should result in the list being updated.

As far as I've noticed - it does not. But maybe I should wait a bit longer.

The usual report is "suspend, dock/undock, resume". Changing the dock
should generate the usual hardware hotplug notifications. If the machine
was suspended at the time, we have to fake the hotplug event on resume.

Hmm, can't see a way to synthesize uevents. But still calling xrandr
should be enough to do a forced reprobe of outputs. Without a hotplug
event, there is a small 15s cache of the most recent probe.

If I get you right, the kernel does not notify the change of a dock and
therefore does not notify X about the change?
Is there a way to generate such notification using currently available
software tools, or am I limited to fix in the kernel to make it notify dock
change?
