[Bug 20476] [RV530 x1650] Black screen on X boot
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20476 inglorion freedesk...@inglorion.net changed: What|Removed |Added CC||freedesk...@inglorion.net --- Comment #17 from inglorion freedesk...@inglorion.net 2009-06-13 00:31:17 PST --- (In reply to comment #16) Does xf86-video-ati git master work for you? I have the same issue (Asus EAX1650XT video card, Ubuntu 9.04). I tried installing the latest version of the driver (following the instructions at http://www.x.org/wiki/radeon). The result is still the same. When I start X, I get a blank screen, sometimes with some garbage near the top. Sometimes, I also have garbage where the mouse pointer is supposed to be. gdm plays its welcome sound, so the system is not completely locked up, but they keyboard doesn't seem to do anything anymore. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati
[Bug 22266] New: asus hd3450 based card needs connector qurik
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22266 Summary: asus hd3450 based card needs connector qurik Product: xorg Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 (AMD64) OS/Version: Linux (All) Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Driver/Radeon AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org ReportedBy: markus.g...@gmx.net QAContact: xorg-t...@lists.x.org Created an attachment (id=26747) -- (http://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=26747) asus-hd3450-output-quirk My Asus hd3450 based card stopped working with the radeon 6.11.0 release. Doing some examination revealed it also needs the Connector quirk for asus board already provided for ASUS HD 3600 XT boards. The device id for my board is 0x01e2. The attached patch, wich makes my card work again, is actually the one already provided with the ids found for the affected board. [Bug 20348] Xorg hangs frequently under heavy 2d - ATI RS740 chipset
http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20348 Simon disturbedsa...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||disturbedsa...@gmail.com --- Comment #12 from Simon disturbedsa...@gmail.com 2009-06-13 08:40:34 PST --- It seems I am having the same issue as well. Though for me it hangs within a couple of minutes (maximum 30) not days. Started when using the r6xx_r7xx_branch on 2.6.29, just upgraded to full 2.6.30 kernel and still happens. 100% CPU, mouse cursor moves in jerky motion but is unresponsive to further input, as is the keyboard. Doesnt matter if radeon or radeonhd is used (though when using radeonhd it seemed to take longer before it hung) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati

Bug#532926: xserver-xorg-video-ati: XRandR multi-monitor: slowness on one screen, acceleration on the other
On Fri, Jun 12, 2009 at 3:39 PM, Arno Schuringaelschur...@hotmail.com wrote: Package: xserver-xorg-video-ati Version: 1:6.12.2-2 Severity: normal Short overview: My setup consists of a 17 LCD doing 1280x1024 and a 24 LCD doing 1920x1080 in portrait mode. All drawing updates to the small monitor work fast with hardly any CPU load; xv works as well. Anything that happens on the large monitor immediately spikes CPU usage and takes ages (multiple seconds) to draw. Long version: I recently (today) upgraded from using two 17 panels to one 17 LCD display and a 24 display. In the old situation, both monitors were running 1280x1024 in xrandr side-by-side mode, giving me a large desktop with full acceleration (that is, xv and basic opengl stuff worked fine). When I use only the 24 panel either in landscape or in portrait mode, everything works fine as well. When I use both panels in display clone mode (1080x1920), everything works fine. Rotation uses the 3D engine so the largest desktop size that can be rotated with hardware is limited to the max texture size: 2048x2048 for your card. For desktops larger than that, software is used for rotation. 1280 + 1920 2048. Due current architectural limitations, the max size is per-desktop rather than per monitor.
