I'm trying to find the equivalent debian package that I should grab the source for and patch, or even grab a source tarball to patch, but I've come up empty so far. It's a kernel patch for the radeon drm. Also make sure you have the latest ddx (xf86-video-ati). Just to let you, and anybody else that is having the same issue, know. This worked perfectly. Since I'm not using the most recent kernel I had to manually apply some of the patches (I'm using kernel 2.6.32). But once done and compiled everything works perfectly now. My interlaced modeline is added without an issue. I also upgrade to the latest release of the xf86-video-ati drivers. Basically upgraded my entire xserver side of things to the most recent release (packages from debian experimental). Thanks for the help. -- o) Derek Wueppelmann (o (D . mon...@monkeynet.ca D). Monitor switches on/off infinitely after waking up from DPMS
Hi, I see following on my machine: - DPMS swithes monitor off - I touch keyboard to wake it up - then it blinks switching on and off infinitely after reboot (it happens about 1 time per day, sometimes it wakes up successfully) Should I throw it out or it is software problem? It starts after kernel 2.6.36.1 update. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati

[Bug 31799] xrandr transform not supported?
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31799 --- Comment #2 from Thomas Orgis sobu...@sourcemage.org 2010-12-01 12:47:40 PST --- Well then, this is confusing. That change in r600_exa.c does not change anything in the behaviour I observe. Fact is, that xrandr --output VGA-0 --rotate inverted does work properly, while xrandr --output VGA-0 --fb 1024x768 --transform 1.5,0,-280,0,1.5,0,0,0,1 does exactly nothing with the screen configuration. So we have to assume that somehow the Xorg in ubuntu is broken? Can you confirm that such a more elaborate transformation does work on r600? My actual intention was to use this for more fancy matrices like xrandr --output VGA-0 --fb 1024x768 --transform 1.5,-0.005,-280,0,1.5,0,0,-0.5,1 ...which does scale down and applies keystone correction. Well, this stuff does work with the fglrx driver, though I observed nasty interpolation quality -- it looks better on the intel-powered laptop, by far. Anyhow: If you can confirm that this is working with your setup, then this bug can be closed, the issue blamed on ubuntu. I will resort now to using the PCI Matrox G450 card for movies and scale down the image via non-fullscreen playback; live with the slight keystone effect and rather enjoy the tear-free video experience that sadly cannot be matched by either radeon driver since the introducton of textured video... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati

If that change from Alex do the transformation in software and even with that change transformation isn't working for you it really seems to be an ubuntu/xorg whatever issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati
