http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13833 --- Comment #8 from Alex Deucher [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-02-18 09:14:38 PST --- (In reply to comment #7) Latest git of radeon half fixes the white screen bug. The screen does go white when changing resolutions, but pressing the lid button clears it and the screen is viewable again. Does switching work ok when option XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps is not used? How about when using exa? using xrandr to set up resolutions fixed the problem So resolution switching works fine when you use xrandr? What do you use to switch resolutions that doesn't work? If you are using kde's gui, it might not be randr 1.2 compliant. I don't think the randr 1.0 compatibility in the server works too well in practice. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati

http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13833 --- Comment #9 from Alex Deucher [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-02-18 17:26:08 PST --- After discussions on IRC, the problem only presents itself when acceleration is disabled. Mode changes work fine when acceleration is enabled. Options XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps or NoAccel cause the mode change failure. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati

http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13833 --- Comment #6 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2007-12-30 16:55 PST --- (In reply to comment #2) (In reply to comment #1) This seems to be an issue that cropped up ever since the 6.7 series, which uses xrandr. Could an option be implemented like the NoRandr option in radeonhd into radeon? I'd like to refer you to an earlier bug report: 13677 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13677 The symptoms you describe seem very similar to the bug description I put there, only I focused mainly on the switch to text mode. Also, I experienced the problems on a similar hardware (ATI Radeon Mobility 7500). This strengthens my claim that the problem is not unique to my system (since your laptop is seemingly of different brand). Does your system exhibit display problems when switching to text mode? Yes it does, infact I have to type stuff without any display to get back to X -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati
