This problem was reported on LFS mailing lists too. AFFAIK it seems to 
be solved after re-extracting the sources again, but you may check the 
LFS archives (search google and add blfs-support to your query)

Do make -k World, your build will finish. When you do make install 
afterwards, xcursorgen is compiled and the failed portion of the build 
will finish properly. I had to manually make the link afterwards in 
exports/bin though.
Or wait untill CVS is fixed :)

Maybe you use the wrong mouse device in /etc/X11/XF86Config? What does 
Debian use, try that same device in Gentoo.

It depends on your modutils version. If you have < 2.4.11 it won't show.
