Re: [Xpert]Mouse problem with Matrox G400

No scrolling yet.The last button is working as middle button, but there is
no scrolling. Also I haven't noticed yet the weird problem with the mouse
pointer. The only strange thing is that whenever I restart the Xserver the
mouse at the beginning is a little crazy but after two seconds it works
just fine.

OptionDevice/dev/input/mice
OptionProtocol auto
OptionButtons 6
OptionZAxisMapping 5 6
  EndSection

X only has 5 first class buttons (ie buttons 6... work differently).
 Try
 Option ZaxisMapping 4 5
 This should enable scrolling.
For me the last button acts as another middle button which
can be convenient since I find it easy to scroll by mistake
 while pressing the wheel.

[Xpert]Mouse Problem Solved -- Thanks

2002-07-17 Thread Faisal Yousuf

Hello XFree86 Exeprts,

I had a problem with my mouse pointer disconnecting from the hot
spot (I picked this term from reading the archives).

I thought it's mouse related. Turns out it's video card related:
I have a Trident CyberBlade. I need to appologize to the folks
at Logitech for having many dark thoughts about them!

I had this mouse problem for more than 6 months. It was driving
me crazy and I had to reboot my PC everytime this problem
happens.

I subscribed twice to the Newbie list, but nobody answered my
question. Finally, I read through the Xpert archives and hlaf an
hour later: Eurika! Someone else had the SAME problem. I used
that solution and.no more mouse problem.

The solution? Add one line to XF86Config-4. This line has three
words!

I'll I want to say is thanks for a great X server and thanks a
lot more for taking the time to answer questions.

In your debt,

Faisal

[Xpert]Mouse Problem

2002-05-17 Thread Kevin Pratt

Hello All,

I have had this problem with two different mice now. After X has been
running for a while (about 2.5 hours) the hot spot on the mouse becomes
disjoint from the main cursor image. The only way I can fix it is to
reboot the computer.

When i click the actual action happens about ~10-20 pixels away from
where the mouse cursor actually is.

I was wondering if anyone had run into this problem before and if they
had can they point me in the direction of a fix.

I am running Gentoo Linux 1.1a on an Aopen MK73lE-N. I used the X
distribution from the portage.

As I said, I have tried two different mice 1 an Aopen USB Optical mouse
(using the PS-2 converter (i am having USB troubles)), and an Acer
generic PS-2 mouse.

Thanks Kevin

This is not mouserelated but graphics related. You might want to post
what driver you're using so the people making all the magic happen
behind the screens know there's still problems. A workaround would be
to turn on the swCursor option in your XF86Config (put 'Option
SWCursor true' in the device section).

PS: You are using 4.2 I hope?

This is most likely a graphics driver bug with the hardware cursor.
If so, Option SWcursor in the Section Device of the XF86Config
file should make that go away.

[Xpert]MOUSE PROBLEM

2002-03-11 Thread Ihsan Elahi

Hi!

I have a PS/2 mouse (Compaq branded) PS/2 Keyboard (Focus FK5200). I
configured the XF86Config-4 under X version of 4.1.0 over Red Hat Linux 7.2
as:

Section InputDevice
Identifier Keybaord0
Driver keyboard
Option Xkblayout us
End Section

Seciton Input Device
Identifier Mouse0
Driver mouse
OptioinProtocol auto
Option Device /dev/psaux
Option ZAxisMapping 4 5
Option Emulate3Buttons yes
End Section

Amazing! when under mouse configuration section, i made the protocol instead
of PS/2 as auto, my keyboard started working in X window system but mouse
totally hangs. Yes! even in GNOME, if i just touch the mouse, the keyboard
again hangs...bad!

Plz find attached the XF86Config-4 version 4.1.0 file for details.

Thanx rgds.
