Indeed, it is a very specific packing but I am sure it might be useful.

Regarding description and example. The documentation is updated automatically 
as well for the python files, isn't it? Or do I have do add something in the 
documentation files? The code is well documented.

it seems like it is a very specific packing way. But if you think,
that it can be useful for somebody, you can add it to the trunk with
