Moon Zappa nipple stickers? H

(I was gonna say "Gail Zappa nipple stickers" first, but I decided that
would be too shocking).

best wishes,
Marco

A little heavy on the negative for my taste and I don't really agree
with much of it, but that's just me and I'm not going to bash the
reviewer for his opinions.

THAT HAVING BEEN SAID, one thought the review raised in my mind, though,
is the annoying idea that "Honey, Don't You Want A Man Like Me?" should
be interpreted as "misogynist". I never felt the song is beating up on
the female character. If anything, it's about two stupid, vapid people.
You know, in the song, "he called her a slut, a pig and a whore, a bitch
and a cunt", but is the song stating that she *is* those things? Is the
male character portrayed as a totally with-it and right-on guy for
calling the girl nasty names just because she won't smooch him? Me
thinks not.

As for "trite", I'm not so sure.. FZ's presentation of these assholes on
the swinging singles scene isn't exactly reminiscent of any other
songwriters' take on the subject, is it? "Backlash against women's
liberation", my Aunt Fanny. I don't see how a song like "Honey" is even
meant to connect with the subject, let alone vilify it.

I don't totally understand the reviewer's bafflement over the nature of
"Carolina Hard Core Ecstasy", nor the idea that it was supposed to be
perceived as satire. I think it's more "documentary" (in the adjective
rather than noun sense) than anything and there's really no comment made
in the song, even implicitly, about people who enjoy this type of
behavior. You might think "Dinah-Moe Humm" is a pretty stupid song, too,
but I think the same thing applies to it. In both cases, FZ claimed the
songs were written from either experience or something he observed or
was told about.

My $0.02
