Hello,
Another issue on my A-LINK 54Mbit/s USB stick, which is recognized as
follows in 2.6.20-grade kernel (actually 2.6.20-1.rt2.0111 on FC6):
I started with AP 1, then moved (with the WLAN interface enabled, only
30 meters) next to another AP 2. AP 1 is still heard with ~20/100
Link quality and ~15/100 Signal level.
The driver doesn't seem to switch to using the new AP. I'd expect
this to happen automatically. Should this work or is this a missing
feature?
Cycling the interface up and down fixes this and I get 98/100 Link
quality and 53/100 signal level.
(FWIW, as a comparison point with an Orinoco PCMCIA card, TX power (or
antenna) or RX sensitivity seem to be very much lower. With an AP 15
meters away (indoors), I get 31/100 Link quality and 14/100 Signal
level seems to result in about 10-20% duplicate responses to ping
packets. With orinoco, quality was better.)
