Man held for trying to rape minor Dalit girl Published: July 7,2009 Moga , July 7 A man was arrested today for allegedly trying to rape a 11-year-old Dalit girl here. Rajbhupinder Singh was arrested while boarding a bus here this morning in a bid to escape, police said. Singh yesterday allegedly tried to rape the Dalit girl at his house in village Himmat Pura under Nihalsinghwala sub-division, they said. The victim, who is Singh&aposs neighbour, raised an alarm. The girl&aposs father and other people in the locality rushed to the spot and rescued her, they said, adding Singh, however, managed to escape. Source: PTI
