[zfs-discuss] zfs startup question
Hello, I have a quick question I cant seem to find a good answer for. I have a S10U7 server that is running zfs to a couple of iSCSI shares on one of our sans, we use a routed network to connect to our iSCSI shares with the route statements in solaris. During normal operations it works fine however after every reboot the system tries to mount the iSCSI shares but it cannot reach them due to the fact it has not brought up the routing for it yet and the iscsi sessions take forever to time out. Does anyone know a way around this other than putting the iSCSI shares and the iSCSI nic's on the same subnet? Thank you. [zfs-discuss] Terrible zfs performance under NFS load
Hello, We have a S10U5 server sharing with zfs sharing up NFS shares. While using the nfs mount for a log destination for syslog for 20 or so busy mail servers we have noticed that the throughput becomes severly degraded shortly. I have tried disabling the zil, turning off cache flushing and I have not seen any changes in performance. The servers are only pushing about 1MB/s of constant traffic to the server over nfs of log data. I think this is due to the cache being flushed with every nfs commit, I was wondering if any one had any other suggestions as to what it could be? Thank you. Re: [zfs-discuss] Terrible zfs performance under NFS load
True we could have all the syslog data be directed towards the host but the underlying issue remains the same with the performance hit. We have used nfs shares for log hosts and mail hosts and we are looking towards using a zfs based mail store with nfs moutnts from x mail servers but if nfs/zfs combo take such a performance hit I would need to investigate another solution. Re: [zfs-discuss] iscsi core dumps when under IO
I tlooks like you are probalby right. from MDB this is what i'm getting: file: /usr/sbin/amd64/iscsitgtd initial argv: /usr/sbin/iscsitgtd threading model: multi-threaded status: process terminated by SIGABRT (Abort) panic message: Assertion failed: 0, file ../t10_sam.c, line 511 Would it be possibly fixed in the S10U5 release? [zfs-discuss] iscsi core dumps when under IO
Hello, I am getting a strange issue when using zfs/iscsi shares out of it. when I have attached a a cent os 5 initiator to the zfs target it works fine normally until i start doing heavy 100MB/s+ copies to a seperate cfs/nfs export on the same zfs pool. the error I am getting is: [ Feb 20 10:41:07 Stopping because process dumped core. ] [ Feb 20 10:41:07 Executing stop method (/lib/svc/method/svc-iscsitgt stop 143) ] I was wondering if any one had any ideas. I am running 10U4 with all of the latest and greatest patches. Thank you. [zfs-discuss] ZFS implimentations
Hello, Does any one have some real world examples of using a large ZFS cluster ie some where with 40+ vdev's in the range of a few hundred or so terrabytes? Thank you.
