This is my direct client opening for Project Manager - Technical - New York, NY. This is a 12 months contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE. Candidates need to interview in person and should be in the NY area. *Project Manager Responsibilities:* Under direction of Senior Project Management, the IT Consultant will initiate and monitor all activities for large, high risk, major technology-based projects from initiation to delivery. The IT Consultant will manage activities associated with projects that typically cross platforms, applications, and/or business lines; work with the Wintel Engineering, Wintel Patching, Wintel Security, Wintel Server Support, Wintel Backup, the Wintel Messaging and Wintel SAN teams along with business partners to understand problems, develop technical and resource requirements, and develop technology concepts, design alternatives, project schedules and costs for new systems initiatives. The IT Consultant will develop and maintain detailed project plans, coordinate and execute plans, run regular project status meetings; provide consistent and comprehensive status reports, project updates, significant issue management and resolution. The IT Consultant will manage budgets along with vendor management and resource coordination. The IT Consultant will ensure adherence to a communication plan and provide consistent and comprehensive communication with business lines and technology management levels. Apply ITIL Best Practice Methodologies in the course of project. Ensure responsibility for, and successful completion, of all forms of testing based on project methodology. *MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE * -Four years as a IT Project Manager of medium to large scale infrastructure projects -Must be familiar with messaging systems, system administration and architecture expertise -Extensive expertise in MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint -Preference will be given to individuals with at least 3 years email migration experience in clustered, high availability Exchange environment. -Must have a solid history as it relates to being self motivated, drives to closure, results oriented and detail oriented. -Excellent oral/written communication skills -Ability to present and sell solutions *THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE BUT NOT REQUIRED:* -Bachelor's degree in IT field -Past experience in a large geography dispersed environment. -Understanding of MS Exchange 2007, Novell and Linux -Experience in Business Analysis -Advanced Exchange 2003/2007. -Active Directory, Windows OS skills. Other skills include: DNS, WINS, DHCP and LDAP, Outlook web access, MS Outlook, blackberry, mobile/active sync, Exchange 5.5/2000/2003 exp. Preferred. -Past Experience with GroupWise migration of Exchange 2003, in depth knowledge in SMTP and email archive solution, SAN and VM is a plus.
