Hi, This is my direct client opening for *Windows System Engineer - New York, NY *. This is a *12 months* contract position.. Candidates need to interview in person and should be in the *NY area*. *Windows Systems Engineer * - Business requirements gathering sessions with representatives of each organizational unit through a series of interviews. - Develop functional and/or design specifications and technical documentation. - Facilities/capacity and storage/backup planning for the two platform systems, Windows - Design, develop, maintain, and support the Windows systems, in four environments - staging, development, production and disaster recovery; support add-ons and modifications to existing applications and/or architecture across the virtual and native Windows platforms. - Through coordination with internal units, configure and tailor facilities/capacity/storage devices. - Develop Planning/Run Book and training documents. Develop System and Technical Documentation for knowledge transfer for selected employees from internal units.** * * *MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE * -The candidate must have a minimum of at least 4 years of technical server administration experience. * * -The candidate must have excellent technical knowledge of Windows 2003 Enterprise Server platform -Practical server support experience within a large scale, complex environment -Expert experience with Windows 2003, Group policy, active directory, domain/forest migrations and trusts. -MS clustering, shadow copy, TCP/IP, LDAP, HTTP, DHCP, WINS, DNS, Exchange 2003/2007/2000/5.5 *THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS DESIRABLE BUT NOT REQUIRED:* -Remote installation Services, SQL Server, Net IQ, Live communications 2005, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Internet security, Intelimirror /group policy, Internet information server 6.0, McAfee ePolicy Mgmt. Server, Acceleration Server 2000/2004. -Experience working with systems management server 2003, and software update services, skilled expertise installing/configuring/managing redundant systems such as NLB or Cisco load balanced WEB and terminal server farms, db server clustering, NAS/SAN configurations. -Strong organizational skills, time management, written/oral communication skills. -Ability to improve DNS, DHCP, NIS, Samba and NTP mechanisms in both intranet and extranet environments. -Enhance server/end user security through best practices. Ability to conduct security threat assessments and recommend/implement required modifications. -Experience building scalable, thoroughly monitored, stable IT server/application solutions. -Highly developed interpersonal skills.
