i take it your friend is looking to hear house music? if so MJQ on Saturday
nights is always a good bet. chez daimer's cousin kai alice is one of the
saturday residents and is known for bringing in people from detroit since he
is from there himself.
there is also a really good after hours party
Personally I thought the Brandy album was one of the year's disappointments
(and there were a few RB albums like that). Rodney Jerkins has not been at
his best for maybe 3 years now. The album's best track was the title-cut and
that was produced by Mike City, who has worked with Sunshine Anderson.
Back in the Spring of 1994, some friends and I had a little house party in
Ohio. At http://hyperreal.org/~mike/id/ there are a couple of excerpts from
the tapes we made (items #3 and 4 on the list, currently). Sound quality is
horrible, which is why I'd like to just go buy the records.

Or the fabulous re-issue of the Human League's Dare and Love Dancing... I
was a kid when Dare came out and listening to my mum's records and she was
never convinced to get it, she liked Eurythmics more. I am glad, I
appreciate the experimental side more now!
I don't mind the electroclash myself,

#3 sounds like it could be bang the box by jackmaster (aka mr hawtin) jack
001.
I have not listened to this record in a while and my records are not at my
house, so I can't check.
there used to be a jack records website, but I could not find it.
it did have streams of most of the tracks.
