I saw David Byrne perform with Gilberto Gil here in NYC late last year.
They put on quite a show! David Byrne dedicated a song to the republican
party and George Bush...we're on a road to nowhere, ha!

This is the vibe I'm getting ..
No one really seems to want to talk about him.
He's obviously not Techno enough for some around here,
and to avant garde for the art crews ?

This is a man who plays Radiohead and Beyonce... kinda defies categories.
He's working on new material, that I know. Did anyone hear his remix of
hip-hop cat Grand Agent lately? It's on a comp CD that is out through Aussie
hip-hop label Obese.
Also for Aussie, Recloose tour coming up, and
i certainly wouldn't miss him in a good venue with a
good crowd. (though given his name, he's also apt to
play at big nightmare clubs. noticed he was at
turnmills when i was in london a couple weeks ago.)

I may not have been very clear in my first post, so I'll expound a bit. Carl
Craig is and has been one of my favourite artists for about 11 years. I made a
mixtape of his music called 'maestro' once upon a time and in my youth even
said he'd be the closest thing I have to an idol. I still rate

Like all the best DJs in Detroit, Carl can play anything and
basically will, even sometimes pushing well past where the
crowd will go. I'm not always thrilled with his playing but
it's always interesting.

I think my problem is that isn't always the case anymore. When I saw him in
Brighton in Nov/Dec the first half of his set was fairly bland, despite
following a Harvey-esque DJ. Like I said, he made up for it, but maybe a little
too little a little too late. That said, reports of his set in
