Cyberspace has been off limits to me for the last week or so. The mixes
are located at http://www.coke-smyth.net/Rainforest_Jazz.mp3 and at
http://www.coke-smyth.net/the_wake.mp3. You should be able to d/l just
from this email, or maybe by ftp:// instead of http:// It is case
sensitive
Sometimes when people went all quiet I posted something just to get a
discussion going, but I've decided that as list admin it's kind of a
cheesy thing to do, so I've stopped.
Sometimes I think that pretty much every possible thing to be said
about Detroit Techno has been said already on this
Just to save admins having to think of a new thread...
I hear there's a new Mr De item on the way. Anything good bad to say about
it?

I saw Rob Hood live recently and was pretty disappointed - he was doing
the whole 'play one track, stop, reprogram, play another track' thing.
A lot of detroit artists seem to do that, performing

i saw octave one twice and i liked it very much and they played just the
older stuff.. once i saw kevin saundersson and it seemed it was just
playback with posing.. but hey, plastikman will do a live show again. :P

Louis Haiman stoped in between tracks when he played demf'04. i reallyed
enjoyed it on the main stage early in the morning. although when I brought
him to Pittsburgh he did a more flowing set. Kevin Reynolds and Sean
Deason are very good. ANd Pittsburgh's own Shawn Rudimen is a bad bad man
live.
Yeah, Kevin Reynolds is great. He's playing at the Bohemian National
Home this Saturday in Detroit. Also love Octave One and Scan 7. I
went to a Scan 7 and Surgeon party last fall at TV Bar in Detroit, it

I caught Dan Bell doing his live set on Sunday. heres a video

desk. The set was faithful reproductions of all the dbx classics with
live vocals.
I've seen a few people do this, Andy Stott for one, but it made a
welcome change and it's wasn't really a heads down set or vibe going but
I can see why it would put people off, depends on the venue and what's
happening in the other rooms I reckon. I love the odd silence to signal

Going on ten years now, but Theorem sticks in the mind as one of the most
satisfying and sonically involving live techno acts I've witnessed, partly
due to the warmth of personality/sound he generated. No flash, all the
fireworks were in the music.
