in OKC, people arequickto blame...
my condolences go out to the family and friends of those dead or injured.

at exactly which point did you realize
oh it didn't surprise me as much as this kid asking kurt from drop bass if
the second coming was his second party. gotta love dumb ohio promoters.
especially ones that fall out of their limo coming to a party cuz they're
in too big of a k hole.
i just get a lil salty when dumb kids don't know the
i picked up some stuff in chicago at a second hand store and was kinda
curious as to what kinda stuff i got...i haven't gotten to listen to them
yet. (in the process of moving...T-Minus one hour and counting til liftoff
from cincinnasty)...
anyh
i picked up the following:

basically, he is just remixing. you never bitched about it before
when your favorite techno producers do it...so why bitch now? :P
this album is his interpretation of the music...it's not like he is taking
credit for EVERYTHING (all the synth lines, piano riffs, whatev)...so why
are you so mad?
Yeah Todd's set was very cool and the visual accompaniment was a soothing
relief from the Bacardi logos.
good lord, todd's set at polarity (columbus, ohio...july 21st this year if
i remember correctly) was AMAZINGLY good. i would venture to say better
than stewart walker's set even. :) really
Some sounds from Todd Sines if you're jonzin' for it
http://www.scalestudio.com/sound/
yes..that was the site i was talking about...i couldn't remember it off
the top of my head...:P very good.
love havin music to listen to pre-furthur drive...maybe i can burn a cd to
listen to on the way. oh
i am well aware of the lack of 313 music at this event (but hey, i-f and
neil landstrumm are yum)...but is anyone going?
i will be there. if you want to catch me, look for camp rice and the white
trash christmas in july experience (you will know it when you see it, i
promise...my friends and i
she will definitely be missed. :( i remember being 16-17 years old when
she first came out with back and forth. sad that she was only 22 years
old.

Do you have any evidence of this? Can you support this claim? Are you Iggy
Pop? The only influence Dub and Reggae may have had on punk is the message
they tried to get across. Ska was directly influenced by the rhythms and
sounds of Dub and Reggae as is apparent in the music, however
this has a nice history of punk music and there is mention of the
influence of reggae and dub music on it.
i'm too lazy to pick the good parts of it out and post it up here, so do
it yourself. :P

and yet another one for the doubting thomas's of the influence of reggae
upon punk...

Does anyone have any info on Bob Brown the Philly Techno King ?
plays harder, bangin' stuff. i dig. the girl who lived in my apartment
before i did threw parties and she had a cd sent to her from him that i
had to listen to. :) good stuff. also have a mixtape somewhere. if you'd
like a copy of
- Riverside Drive - Larry Heard
looks like the man wrote a song about my favorite street in memphis. :)
nice to see that someone is inspired by it as much as i am. heheh.
to make this 313-related, i once drove from memphis to detroit. NYAH! :P
been a long weekend,
lauryn.
the Detroit Symphony Orchestra plays music, notes. every time i've heard
Richie on the 909, it just sounds booring. he doesn't really seem to
program any sort of danceable rhythm.
i would SO not go as far as to say that it doesn't have a danceable
rhythm. and the comparison to the
Without keeping something constant, you have nothing to build with.
Constantly changing mediums means you'll never be doing something long
enough to truely master it. Who cares if he uses the same instrument for 20
more years, as long as the inspirations are kept and the music is pushed
i think the idea of this technology is fantastic. however, what i am
wondering is what this is going to do to the independent record label
industry. use of mp3s right now doesn't currently affect them as much as
it does the major record labels. but what this is going to do is
discourage buying
i would have to agree with adam about it being a lot more rewarding about
finding things on vinyl instead of mp3. it's a tangible thing. you can
actually SEE it. *shrugs*. technology is nice and all, but sometimes it
just doesn't cut it. if you don't think so, why don't you all go spin cds
instead
Plus I'd wager that Richie's last tour, the one where he used FinalScratch
so much, was boring was because FinalScratch till can't be used and abused
the reason his last tour was so boring was cuz he wanked the f*ck out of
the 909.
blah.
lauryn.
- any estimates on cost of final scratch? (bored at work)
$1600 minimum for laptop
$1200 for Finalscratch hardware and software
look on a 313'er's face when yet another off-topic post is made...
PRICELESS.
:P
lauryn.
geez...calm down.
i'm sure your job is a lot more fun than mine is and whatnot. i am fully
aware that location has a lot to do with what i am hearing. i'm not
stupid. i didn't necessarily mean to say crap like Muzak...i was more
meaning something along the line that it's managed to slither it's

would much appreciate it. need it for a friend wanting to book him who

if you would have paid attention, he was being facetious. :)
but you had to read all the posts to get that. if you took it out of
context, he looked like a jackass, but you could tell he was mocking the
general attitude that this list comes to when it doesn't agree with or
like something.
first off, i will apologize to any 313'er i piss off by writing about this
kind of music.
There's a sound coming out from Britain called 2-step. Only reason I'm
familiar with it is that there is somebody on MTV with a 2-step video.
Like a mixture of Usher andI don't know, Steve Hurley or
oh no...this argument really isn't 313 techno related.

Police closed it at about 330 or so, which was only 1/2 early, and that was
because of a fight outside with security.
two security people got stabbed. one in the face and one in the kidney
apparently. i wouldn't be surprised if the space won't be used again. :\ i
went to vend at the party and
while browsing around through a record store yesterday with a very short
amount of time, i ended up finding two baby ford records for 99 cents and
2.99$. so i ended up buying them as i was in a hurry and didn't have much
time to listen to them as i got to only listen to the other tracks i

at any rate, yes, i am back. :) decided to poke my head back in the door
for a minute.
