| ABOUT THE ARTISTS |

STEFFI
You can trust Steffi as a dj implicitly, in form and content. Her
skills are extraordinary, as you can see when she really works the
records and eq’s; no soft blending, but mixing in its original sense.
She features a plethora of styles and varies every single one of her
sets ranging from Electronic Disco, to serious Detroit- or Dutch
Electro, whereas original, funky and fat House always will be her
solid foundation.

Since 2000, Steffi runs her label Klakson together with Dutch producer
Dexter. Apart from the special cover design (black and white photos),
Klakson first and foremost impresses by music: Records by artists like
Dexter, Fastgraph, Duplex, Seymor Bits, Putsch 79 or Mr. Cisco have
been supported by the likes of Laurent Garnier, DJ Hell, Andrew
Weatherall and Miss Kittin. It surely is an aficionado’s label
occupying a gateway between ambitious club music and humour.

MIKE HUCKABY
Tastemaker, Educator, Sound Designer, and Motor City Proponet. Mike
Huckaby has done much for Detroit electronic music. The man behind the
once legendary Record Time store has gathered an encyclopedic
knowledge of music. He is one of those guys who knows all the roots
and culture of electronic dance music. He is a person who can see
beyond the hype and divisions within the scene. Mike knows exactly
what the music is. With productions for labels like Rick Wade's
Harmonie Park outfit, tons of remixes, and of course his own Deep
Transportation and S Y N T H imprints.

BEAUTIFUL SWIMMERS
You know when you scoop a record at some flea because the art looks
tight, but it turns out that the shit is wack except for some little
beautiful chunk? Yea you do. They rescued the good parts from many
terrible records that otherwise just would've collected bad vibes on
their floors. These dudes are trying to bring back something like
early Daniel Wang but mix it with heavy boogie visions (''Swimmers
Groove'') and all these psuedo-African slow cuts from the 90s that we
keep finding (''O Yea''). Lifeguards for the vibe.

LOVEFINGERS
Andrew Hogge, better known as Lovefingers, needs little introduction
amongst the global disco elite. His internationally acclaimed mix of
999 songs at lovefingers.org has had a undeniable impact on the
burgeoning eclectic dance scene of today. A Los Angeles native, Andrew
hosted Blackdisco Social Club since 2001 (including guests Thomas
Bullock, Special Disco Version and Prins Thomas) before heading off to
New York City where he resides today. Andrew runs the Blackdisco
imprint, a well known edits series which finds its releases in the
bags of top jocks like DJ Harvey, James Murphy and Todd Terje. In the
past few years, Lovefingers has performed at the Whitney Biennial,
Doug Aitken's Sleepwalkers premiere at MoMA, Henrik Vibskov's Tent
City exhibition in Seoul, repeated summers at P.S.1's Warm-Up as well
as numerous tours through North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
One half of The Stallions, along-side long time disco cohort Lee
Douglas, Andrew co-wrote and produced the Stallions' Suite for Findlay
Brown. This 12 minute epic journey of modern Disco and Spaghetti
Western themes has received praise from disco giants like Ashley
Beadle, DJ Cosmo, Prins Thomas, Pilooski, and to the Stallions'
delight, been played by the legendary David Mancuso at The Loft. The
Stallions have been busy with a slew of remixes as well as their debut
album, of which you can be sure will change the scope of modern dance
music. 2010 has also seen Lovefingers' new label, ESP Institute, debut
with an EP by Sombrero Galaxy, the first of many exciting releases
planned over the next year.
