Hi Doug, One more thing... If one of your methods is damaged (causes 4D crash), the Explorer could also crash when trying to display the method code preview. Yet again the option key comes to rescue. If holding that key and selecting a method, the Explorer will not redraw the preview pane.

Hi Doug, Have you tried to hold the alt key when opening the database or when going to design environment. In standalone you will get the 'You pressed the "Option" key' dialog, just click Continue, but keep pressing the alt key. The design environment should not open any left open method
