I am looking for a solution to taking paypal payments on our website (which is
served by a 4D Server database), which utilizes paypal's Instant Payment
Notification (IPN) system.

Not sure if this is germane to your issue, Chip, but I’ll offer this - 4D’s v17
php interpreter is not as comprehensive as one would expect or hope for. It
doesn’t handle cURL and other critical (to me) functions...
