I just used e-node's new master-key password for the first time and I like
it. If you've not used it yet, the first time you launch, you use the
register command with a slightly different format that includes your email
address.

When the code runs it generates your serial number which is emailed to you
AND is placed in the licenses folder. So, basically, you're good to go at
that point.

The first time I used this was with a client where I had access to the
server. So, I ran an instance of the structure with master key and then
updated it right away with an instance that had the standard 'AL_Register'
with the final key that was emailed to me.

I'm now going to update a client where I don't have access to the server.
So, each update is an imposition on them and as a consequence I want to
minimize the updates.

My question is: can I run in production with the master key, or do I need
to do a 'next' version of the structure with the final serial number?

The docs also suggest:

Quick and easy way – End-user online instant activation
1. Make sure that the machine where the plugin will be used is connected to
the Internet (single user workstation or in server mode the first remote
client that will connect to the server).
2. Launch your application. Displaying any layout that uses the plugin will
trigger the demonstration mode dialog.

*2.5 and only implied "Click the Register Button"*

3. Enter the Master key that was delivered by e-Node.
4. The plugin will display an alert indicating that it is now registered.

I'm assuming this means I don't need an AL_Register call in my database at
all if I do this. A license file is created in the 4D server's license
folder and all is well. But that's not stated and I don't have way to test.
