Hey guys,
I've a Brother MFC-425CN printer/copier/fax/scanner that has decided to
give up the ghost, and wondered if it would be of any use for parts or
maybe it could be fixed, potentially - though I know printers are cheap.
I happily had this working under linux in the past, and it has a
hi all,
I will be along soonish I imagine, for more laptop fixing goodness and
essay avoidance (850+ words so far!)

I hope to be along tonight (moist atmosphere permitting), and will
certainly not be mentioning maps..maybe. I could bring some electronics but
it's a lot of stuff given the weather; anyone done anything much with the
fabled 8266(?) chips?

I shall be along to fiddle more with my ESP, bell, and possibly mapping if
I run out of other things to do which is seeming increasingly unlikely.
Unfortunately the transistors I ordered haven't arrived yet, so probably no
IoD yet...
Also, someone who knows about hackspace money should hassle
Now that my little stripboard ESP8266-01 module works, I'll likely be
developing the software further, adding sensors, making a bell ding, or
working on a second board design now I've got a feeling for what I care
about. Perfboard, even.
For anyone who wants to know more, just ask :)

I shall be along, probably working on my latest ESP-01 board, possibly
making dinging noises, making lua noises, and maybe mapping.
Mike: I'm using Fritzing, but also haven't yet got to the stage of
rejigging parts, at least not entirely successfully yet. So, interested to
discuss it and see what
Having got a DingBot-in-an-ESP8266, I'm going to either work on driving the
bell or soldering up more of my development board with newly-arrived
component goodness. Oh, and maybe twiddling with the code or showing anyone
who's interested.

I plan to continue my avoidance of mapping and do more electronics stuff,
possibly involving exploring ESP8266 firmwares.
Beer and/or gin sound like an option...

Hopefully I'll finally make another meeting, and I might even try and do
something other than mapping ;)
*packs up all his electronics tinkering stuff*
Rob: will be interesting to see what you've done with temperature stuff :)
How early are we looking like for tonight?

I have very little food in the house, so probably nothing obviously
complementary, but I do have a popcorn machine and a bag of unpopped corn,
if that's of interest ?

Sadly I will not be in tonight to fail to ring a bell (or compare notes
over esp8266) as I'M ON THE TRAIN *cough* Anyhow, have a good night and
I'll catch up next week or on irc/email. Now to be less loud in the quiet
coach...

Hi All,
I've got a British Gas electricity monitor here, and may have another going
spare too, which I am no using and certainly won't be after I move.
Anyone interested in using it or tinkering with it for a home-grown
monitoring system?

I plan to bring them both tomorrow, so they can be fought over then ;)
(albeit with Tom & Ed having first claim)

I mentioned to a few people that I have some waffle makers (like sandwich
toasters, but for waffle batter), one needing US socket/power (making
standard 'square' waffles) and one a UK one (making star-shaped thinner
ones). Since there was some interest here, if anyone has a sincere interest

Hi Hibby,
I shall be commiserating the departure of my Wife to another continent
while attending this evening, possibly with beverages and electronics of
various sorts... falling back to mapping if apathy strikes...

Ah right, I might also bring a container to enable popcorn containment.
Was someone interested in my waffle-maker?

Hey All,
Someone at the space (Mike?) was asking after CNC software; I found one
link on Tuesday, but also re-found this one: http://www.linuxcnc.org/
Of course, if anyone has other ideas, it'd be interesting to hear about
them :)
That's all :)
