the movement, such delimited lines are completely irrelevant. For the
movement there is no difference whether there is a newline on the
previous visible line or the line was broken due to the width of the
window.

I am using a Logitech Wireless Optical Trackman. When using Linux I
need to remap a couple of the buttons using the line
pointer = 1 2 9 4 5 6 7 8 3
in my .Xmodmap file.
Button 1 works as expected and in the shell I can only get access to
the cut, paste, snarf... menu with buttons 8
