I tested this with the Orca screen reader under Linux. I am able to use
the screen reader's review mode to read the dialogue, including the word
and character counts.

Have you tried to review it with the JAWS cursor?

As I'm testing under Linux and you're using Windows, the results may differ.

[libreoffice-accessibility] jaws screen reader is not reading word count

2022-09-28 Thread Daniel McGrath
Hi all,
What it says on the tin really. When I'm in a document and I click
word count, is there a keyboard shortcut for that by the way? I get a
modal dialogue explaining what word count does, but not the word count
itself. At least, Jaws for Windows isn't reading it if it is there.

I had been intending to switch from word to libreoffice, but word
count is an essential feature and I will have to stick with word if I
can't get it to work in libreoffice, which would be a pity since it's
otherwise much easier to operate.

Regards
Daniel
