Hello friends.
I have started a new mailing list and the name of the list is PUNJABI
VISUALLY CHALLENGED USERS. I felt the necessity of making this mailing list
because the 1st language in Punjab is Punjabi and lot of people do not feel
comfortable conversing in English.
Many students take Punjabi as their medium of studies but due to non
availability of Punjabi keyboard layout, they are unable to use computers in
their studies.
Now Punjab government has made Punjabi as the official language of Punjab,
where they expect you to know basic computers along with knowledge of
working in Punjabi on computers, which is the basic requirement to get a job
in Punjab.
With the inclusion of Punjabi in Espeak, now it is possible to read and
write Punjabi on computers , the link to download the same is

Nearly a year back I had created a Punjabi keyboard layout for my personal
use, which is almost like the Punjabi manual typewriter, which I would like
to share with you all.

On this list subscribers can write their technical issues related to
computers, mobile and day to day problems, which they face, and whoever can
help, may reply to the issues mentioned in the mailing list.
You can converse in 3 different ways.
First, write Punjabi using English script,
second, using the Punjabi keyboard layout (which you can download from the
link above) and
third, I am working on the Punjabi phonetic layout, which once complete,
shall share with you all.
