Akshay Sapkal, a Pune resident who completed his bachelors in engineering (computers), approached the HC to challenge a July 2017 order, by which though successful at the exam, he was refused a job since he had failed the biometric verification. Sapkal’s lawyer argued that fingerprints didn’t match as he suffered from hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). His prints from when he went in for the exam and when he left did not match. The HC bench said that he made no such declaration and in the face of a report from an agency engaged for the biometrics, no relief could be given.
