Reading mode as well as simplified /immersive mode is not available
for every article, furthermore, sometimes I've experienced that some
portion of the text is missing in the aforementioned mode. Though for
most of the websites/articles, it is the best alternative.

It's a really good app and makes text quite accessible.
Also, later I found an option where, chrome asks you weather you want the
page in simplified view and then the issue was resolved.

I also encounter this problem on multiple occasions. I suggest you give
"reading mode" app a try. This app is from google and it makes reading on
chrom easy.
