'Talk 64' will keep players informed of all the moves in the game and interact
with them

Mumbai, october 3: Talk 64, first-of-its kind talking software, will now make
playing games for visually challenged much easier and simpler. This software
which will enhance the playing skills of the visually challenged will be
launched on Oct 10, 2006, during the forthcoming "11th Individual World Chess
Championship for the Blind 2006" in Goa.

The software is the brainchild of India's leading network provider company GTL
Limited.

'Talk 64' has a distinctive feature of speech, a sound alternative to play. It
will keep players informed about all the moves in the game and will also
interact with the player continuously. Another interesting feature attached to
the speech module of the software is its synthesizer. With the help of the
synthesizer the voice (male/female), rate and volume of speech can be regulated.

The GTL foundation, a trust of GTL Limited, has been working for the visually
challenged for the past 10 years. According to them, the aim of developing
this software is not just limited to playing.

"With the help of this software, the players will get acquainted to computers.
They will become billable resources of our organisation", reveals Manoj Tirodkar
, CEO and managing director of GTL Limited.

The software also contains a unique collection of games and has more than
1,00,000 games from various international tournaments for practice and covers
all the major openings and their variations. This will not only provide variety
to the player but will also help in upgrading his/her skills.

The organisers for the visually impaired team are keenly awaiting the launch of
this software next month. "I feel proud that India has come out with the
first of its kind software in the world which is helping our team prepare for
the challenge ahead", concludes Charudutta Jadhav, executive board member
of International Braille Chess Association and general secretary of All India
Chess Federation for the Blind.
