Vanishing the traditional start button in Windows 8 was a revolutionary step by
Microsoft. That could be a short-lived fame as Microsoft is reportedly planning
to revive the start button with Windows 8.1.

A report in The Verge says that the button would aid access to the Start
Screen, and will not include the traditional Start Menu.
This apart, Microfost is also panning a boot to desktop option to allow users
to boot directly to the traditional desktop environment. Microsoft is expected
to unveil Windows 8.1 during its Build conference in late June.
According to WinBeta via CNET, Windows 8.1 also will offer a wider variety of
tile sizes: large, standard, wide, or small and lets you more easily edit named
groups of your app tiles.
Though it is too early to know the functionality of these features, with all
these potential changes, Will Windows 8.1 be a better option than Windows 8?
