Sub:   Announcement of annual awards of Excellence and honour

 

Dear Sir / Madam,

 

National federation of the blind Karnataka state branch is pleased to announce 
its annual awards of excellence and honour for the 6th consecutive year. These 
awards are presented every year to deserving individuals and institutions for 
their outstanding performance and achievements in changing the traditional 
perception of the society towards the talent and ability of a blind person. 

 

The following awards of excellence and honour for the year 2010-11 are 
announced here in-

 

1.     Visually impaired role model of the state (one male one female):-

This award shall be given to such a male and female with visual disability who 
resides in Karnataka and has explored exemplary avenues of carrier and social 
dignity for their fellow blind individuals.

 

2.     Felicitation of all those visually challenged scholars who reside in 
Karnataka and have been awarded degree of doctorate by any University. 

 

3.     Felicitation of meritorious students with visual disability: - all those 
visually challenged students shall be felicitated on the eve of the annual 
function of the federation who reside in Karnataka and have passed in any of 
the public exam of S.S.L.C, P.U.C, Degree or PG with 80% and above marks in 
2010. 

 

4.     Award of best V.I. student of the state Junior grade:- The federation 
has received nominations of 14 students from seven special schools in the 
state. One best V.I. student of the junior grade shall be selected out of these 
14 students on the basis of their academic and co-curricular performance of the 
last 3 years. 

 

5.     Acknowledgement of outstanding services of 5 Karnataka based 
institutions of and for the blind:- Under these award the services of such five 
institutions shall be acknowledge who have been working  in Karnataka for a 
minimum of 10years and have made a remarkable difference in the life of 
visually challenged beneficiaries. 

General Rules of nomination for the awards

 

The applications are invited from the deserving individuals and institutions 
for all above stated awards as per the below mentioned rules and instructions. 

 

1.     The eligible applicants are required to apply for any one of the above 
mentioned awards along with their resume and evidencing documents to support 
their claime for the concerned award.  

Special Note: The nominees for award of "Best V.I. Student of the State" are 
not required to re apply, as their applications and supporting documents have 
already been received by the federation.  

 

2.     Last date for receiving the applications for each award is 15th March 
2011. 

 

3.     In case of individual awards the application must be accompanied by 
disability certificate issued by a competent authority. 

 

4.     The applications should be submitted to the office of the National 
Federation of the Blind Karnataka state Branch at the above mentioned address.

 

5.     All the awards shall be presented to the selected nominees on the eve of 
the annual function of the federation on 29th March 2011 at Town Hall Bangalore.

 

6.     Nature of awards and felicitation :- all the nominees for the award of 
meritorious student shall be awarded with a cash prize as follows :

Passing out of :-     SSLC                    Rs. 1000/-

 P.U.C                   Rs. 1250/-

Degree                  Rs. 1500/-

P.G.                      Rs. 2000/- 

The best V.I. student of the state (Junior) shall be awarded with cash prize of 
Rs. 5,000/-

All other awardees shall be felicitated with suitable mementos of respect and 
dignity and a citation letter.

 

7.     All organizations / Institutions, social workers, concerned government 
officials and individual friends are requested to circulate the content of this 
announcement as widely as possible.
