reading about companies mainly from their annual reports, and from the
websites like screener.in and then think of investing directly in the
share market.

I have only one small advise from my experience. Do not unmindfully act on
the tips you receive. Have your own research done, I personally invest in a
small number of stocks only about whom I have studied over time.
Also in start period invest only in cash market, refrain from derivatives
