Dear Mukeshji, I am an active user of SBI online website.
In order to download the bank statement I, follow all the steps mentioned by you. On pressing submit button the bank statement opens in a new window. This window is basically an excel spreadsheet. I click anywhere on this sheet and press 'Ctrl+A" shortcut for selecting all the content on the page. Next I press "Ctrl+C" for copying the entire page to clip board. Then I open a blank excel workbook and go to "A1" cell and press "Ctrl+V" for pasting the content to excel worksheet.All the entries are pasted in excel file and then I save it as per my requirement and prefered location. SBI online allows only 6 month data download. I hope that will help. Please feel free to write back in case problem is not resolved. Method indicated above is an indirect one.
