not work on all distributions; I meant to say it will exclusively work
on those that have the Gnome desktop environment and (those software
that use the AT-SPI accessibility infrastructure).

Yes you can install both Ubuntu and Windows on the same machine.
In fact you can either download Ubuntu from the net or can also place order
for free CD to be delievered at your home.
